San Francisco has always been a city I mostly knew through movies; fragments of images, colors, silhouettes, that stayed somewhere in my mind long before I ever tried to draw it
choosing what to include or leave out was already a challenge
But the real battle was the Golden Gate. Reinterpreting one of the most recognizable structures on earth using my language took hours of adjustments, tests, and failures before it finally clicked I hope you guys will appreciate it
It’s the bridge, but it’s also not the bridge, it’s my version of it
I tried to integrate as many references as possible: the hills, the shards of the skyline, and that distinct mix between nature and architecture that defines the city.
This work is the way San Francisco exists in my brain a place built from memories I never had, images I absorbed, and shapes I transformed until they became mine.
Another chapter of the world, rewritten through my own language.
