Comments: After 6 hours on a bumpy mountain road from the airport to Nainital. We stopped for some hashish since we were close to where the hash in India is grown. Our friend John was losing his patience in the back seat getting smushed around by the luggage. At nightfall we made it to our lodge that was off the beaten path and our driver helped us off in the middle of the road. Our host found us and walked us on a hike to the house. We crossed a broken path and jump wired fence with our luggage to make it to our rooms. The guys were bbqing and playing music and all we wanted to do was rest before going to Kainchi Dham for Neem Karoli Baba blessing. He was a Hindu guru and a devotee of the Hindu deity Hanuman.. The same teacher of Steve jobs and Ram Das. We too sought out the wisdom of the importance of living in the present moment and transformative impact of kindness and compassion. Our host Paras served us Dal and Roti and off we went to bed. He said he would join us and take us to the Ashram in the morning to pray. We arrived to the temple and stood in line. Surrounded by all the locals we were the only westerners for kilometers. Observing the people in their prayers, receiving blessings from gurus and statues we participated in the rituals. There was a moment where we all sat down on the steps to meditate and close our eyes. Sitting in the sun. Illuminated... Becoming enlightened in such a sacred space for so many people around the world. Everything inside my eyes turned to a supersonic gold vibration from a source of white light. A vortex of energy was rushing up inside me like a kundalini awakening. To the point where my whole world was spinning. An overwhelming force as if you can feel the axis spin of the Earth. It was an intense 30 minutes of purifying the mind and body till everything became crystal clear. Third eye wide opened. We left the temple and stopped meditating at the same moment. Got in line to leave, and as you walk out the temple gates they give you a single chickpea as an offering. You eat it and it is the most delicious single garbanzo bean you'll ever taste. The taste of heaven being fed by the angels themselves. To teach us compassion. To feed people who are hungry. To answer their prayers when they need help or guidance.
