Here's a description for your diptych:
This diptych, created with a 3D pen and acrylic ink on paper was inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann's short story The Sandman. Through busy patterns and stark contrasts, the artwork recreates the psychological tension of Hoffmann's tale. In the left panel, a figure recoils in terror, while their features distort in response to the presence of fear. Opposite, a shadowy figure looms with distorted limbs and a sinister expression, embodying the relentless and intrusive nature of the Sandman.
The layered lines and web-like textures amplify the dream-like nightmarish quality, creating a surreal, three-dimensional effect. The dense patterns and tangled forms represent the merging of reality and imagination, evoking the sense of horror and fascination that characterizes Hoffmann's narrative.
